A man was hospitalized and suspected of being under the influence in a Sunday night crash near Ellensburg.
According to Washington State Patrol, 23-year-old Kyler Weatherford of Anacortes was driving east on I-90 west of Ellensburg around 10 p.m. WSP says Weatherford lost control of his vehicle, went into the median, and rolled. He was not wearing a seatbelt and ejected. Weatherford was taken to an area hospital and faces charges of DUI.
The Bureau of Reclamation’s March 2025 forecast of total water supply available for the Yakima basin indicates the water supply will not fully meet irrigation demands this season, officials have announced. The Total Water Supply Available for the April–September period indicates senior water rights will receive 100% of full entitlements, but junior water rights will receive 48% of their full entitlements.
Reclamation officials said storage in the Yakima Basin Reservoirs on March 1 was 22% full with 229,000 acre-feet, which is 36% of average.

SPORTS
Central Washington University’s men’s baseball team lost two games over the weekend to Western Oregon. They lost 18-15 in a slugfest in the first game and then lost 14-4 in the second game.
Central Washington’s Men’s basketball team lost 72-61 to Seattle Pacific on Saturday
LUNCH
The lunch today at the Fish Open Table is sausage fagipoli and apples. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.,at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elm Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
