Fuel stolen near Ronald
The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance in identifying a person who allegedly stole $1,500 worth of diesel fuel from a private property on Roslyn Ridge, north of Ronald. The suspect also destroyed two security cameras worth $1,200. Photos of the suspect and vehicle are posted on the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office's Facebook. The suspect appears to be a bald, white male and is suspected to have stolen fuel previously from the location.
Survey seeks opinions on priorities for the city
The city of Ellensburg is asking residents to complete a survey to help shape the goals of the city’s sustainability and energy plan. The plan will guide future utility, transportation, building, solid waste and municipal operations priorities. The survey is available on the city’s website.

This month’s Coffee with the City Council event is from 9 to 11 a.m., today at Unity Park on Pearl Street.
Concert supports Ellensburg Community Radio
Ellensburg Community Radio’s Summer Concert featuring Star Anna, Mark Pickerel and Stephanie Anne Johnson will be 5:30 p.m., Friday at The Brick House Gardens and Nursery. The concert is a fundraiser for ECR. For information on tickets go to www.eburgradio.org.
Valley Musical Theatre to present “9 to 5”
Valley Musical Theatre’s production of “9 to 5” continues with performances tonight, Saturday, and July 20, 21 and 22. Tickets are $20 for general admission if purchased in advance, for $25 if bought at the door.
Open house and potluck at Cle Elum Hatchery
The Yakama Nation Fishery will hold an open house and potluck at the Cle Elum Hatchery on Friday. Self-guided tours start at 10 a.m. and lunch is served at noon. Salmon will be provided. People with last names beginning with A-to-H are asked to bring a salad or casserole, I-to-P, fruit or a dessert, and Q-to-Z, beverages (no alcohol).
Help needed on fence
Volunteers are needed for a Peoh Point fencing project at 9:30 a.m., Saturday. The work will take place in the Taneum Point area and will protect meadow habitat from trampling. The effort is organized by the Mountains to Sound Greenway. Participants will receive directions and parking information after registering on the Mountains to Sound Greenway website.
Celebrating 30
Dusty’s Nursery celebrates 30 years in business Saturday with a free barbecue, activities and door prizes. The fun starts at 11 a.m.
Croatian Picnic is Saturday
The annual Croatian Picnic is from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday at Runje Field. The event is a celebration of Croatian culture put on by the Roslyn/Ronald/Cle Elum Heritage Club and features music, dancing, kids activities, food and beverages. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Free physicals for Grid Kids
Free physicals will be offered for children registered for Ellensburg Bulldogs Gridkids Football from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Valley View Elementary School. Gridkids practices get underway on July 24.
Central’s Board of Trustees meets
The Central Washington University Board of Trustees holds its annual planning retreat on July 20-21 at Suncadia Resort. The retreat is a mix of public and executive sessions. The public session of July 20, starting at 11:15 a.m. will include public comment and a discussion of CWU’s budget and fall enrollment projections.

LUNCH
The FISH Open Table lunch is a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich on wheat bread, broccoli salad and applesauce. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
