Oil spill impacts Cle Elum water supply
A tanker truck collision caused thousands of fuel to be spilled into Lake Keechelus and forced Cle Elum to switch the intake location for its water supply. On Saturday morning the city switched its primary intake from the Yakima River to its well field on the Cle Elum River over concerns that oil plume was making its way into the Yakima River. City officials said the fuel did not enter the city’s water tanks.

The Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce After-Hours is 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Elk Kitchen and Wine Bar in the Hotel Windrow.

The Ellensburg Night Market is from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Gard Vintners, The Ridge Encore and Valo Cellars. The Night Market features vendors, food and music.
Paint and Sip at Whipsaw
Whipsaw Brewery hosts Pant and Sip at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will design Christmas cards with Erin Oostra.
Dance Ensemble presents Nutcracker
The Ellensburg Dance Ensemble presents “The Nutcracker and the Battle for the Key,” at 7 p.m., Friday, and 2 and 7 p.m., Saturday, in McConnell Auditorium. The performance is a family-friendly show featuring live orchestration and talented local dancers from ages 8 to adult. Tickets are $22 for general admission.

EHS basketball in action
The Ellensurg High School girls’ basketball team welcomes Mount Si at 6 p.m., tonight. The boys team plays at Moses Lake at 7 p.m., Tuesday. The Kittitas basketball teams are at Quincy on Tuesday with the girls’ game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m. Cle Elum-Roslyn’s basketball teams visit River View on Tuesday with the girls’ game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m.
CWU hoops teams win
Central Washington University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams notched Great Northwest Athletic Conference wins on Saturday. The Wildcat men defeated Western Washington, 79-76, to improve to 6-3 overall, 2-0 in league. Central women topped Northwest Nazarene to remain undefeated for the season, 7-0 overall, 1-0 in league. The men next play at home versus Evergreen State at 4 p.m., Saturday. The women are off until Dec. 18 when they visit Cal State Dominquez Hills.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is ham and bean soup, seasonal vegetables, a roll and peaches. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
