City Council meets on Tuesday
Due to today’s Presidents Day holiday, the Ellensburg City Council will meet on Tuesday. A resolution addressing the boundaries and responsibilities for the hillside below Reed Park with Kittitas County is on the agenda. Government offices and schools are closed today,
EHS Winter Musical opens this week
The Ellensburg High School Winter Musical, “Anything Goes” opens at 7 p.m., Thursday at the Morgan Performing Arts Center. The schedule includes 7 p.m. showings on Feb. 21, 22 and 28 and March 1, and 2 p.m. shows on Feb. 22 and March 1. Tickets are $15 for general admission.
Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday
The 13th District Legislators will hold a Virtual Town Hall via Zoom at 6 p.m., Wednesday. Sen. Judy Warnick, and Reps. Tom Dent and Alex Ybarra will discuss the ongoing Legislative session. Registration information is on the League of Women Voters of Kittitas County Facebook page.
Native American print exhibit opens Thursday
An exhibit of Native American prints from the Crow’s Shadow Institute of Arts Collection opens on Thursday at CWU. The exhibit, titled “Past, Now and Future,” starts with an art history talk by Michael Holloman at 4 p.m. in the SURC Theatre, followed by a reception at 5 p.m. in the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery.
“Dracula” opens on Friday
The CWU Theatre Department production of “Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really,” premieres at 7:30 p.m., Friday in the Milo Smith Theatre. There also are performances on Saturday, Sunday, Feb. 28, March 1 and 2. Tickets are available on the CWU Theatre website.

Central hoops bounce back from defeats
After losing to Montana St.-Billings, 79-66, on Thursday, the CWU men’s basketball team bounced back with a 68-66 win over Seattle Pacific on Saturday. The Wildcats are back home Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against Western Oregon. The CWU women fell to Montana St.-Billings, 66-61, on Thursday, and came back to beat Seattle Pacific, 75-64, on Saturday. The Wildcat women host Western Oregon at 5:15 p.m., Thursday.
High School basketball post-season rolls on
The Ellensburg High School boys’ basketball season ended with a 71-66 loss to East Valley on Saturday. The Bulldog girls host Selah at 6 p.m., Tuesday in the District 5 tournament. The Kittitas girls' season ended Thursday with a 52-34 loss to Tonasket. The Cle Elum-Roslyn girls qualified for the state 2B tournament with a 49-41 win over Mabton on Saturday. The Warriors play Brewster at 2 p.m., Saturday at Moses Lake High School to determine seeding at the state tournament.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is vegetarian chili, cornbread and apples. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
