Central Washington University is removing words such as “equity,” “belonging” and “diversity” from its mission statements after being threatened with federal funding loss by the U.S. Department of Education
The City of Ellensburg is looking to hire a new Water Resources Manager and a temporary laborer.
The Ellensburg Arts Commission meets today at 4:00 PM in the Ellensburg City Council Conference Room.
Over the next month, the CWU Sarah Spurgeon Gallery will be hosting one of the year’s most popular events: the 2025 Juried Undergraduate Student Art + Design Exhibition. The opening events will take place Thursday, April 17, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. in Randall Hall. The award ceremony, where students are recognized for excellence in their artwork, will begin at 6 p.m.

Ellensburg’s Boys Soccer team beat Wapato 1-0 on Tuesday in non-conference action. The Ellensburg Boy’s baseball team beat Toppenish also on Tuesday 13-5.
Central Washington’s Track and Field will compete in the 2025 Whitworth Jeff Rahn Classic at Whitworth University this Friday.
The Central Washington Men’s Baseball team plays Western Oregon in Monmouth, Oregon in two games on Saturday.
The Central Washington University Women’s Softball Team will play Simon Fraser this Saturday in Ellensburg.
WEATHER
The forecasted high today in Ellensburg is 67 degrees with a low of 39 degrees. The high on Friday is 58 with a high of 54 on Saturday and 61 on Sunday.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is Grilled Lemon Garlic Chicken, Wild Rice, Mixed Vegetables and Pears. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
