This May, the City of Ellensburg and community partners will

celebrate National Bike Month with bike activities and giveaways from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, and a month-long bike ride raffle and photo contest.

The Ellensburg Cold Weather Shelter is closing for the season. It served an average of 10 people per night and assisted 72 people over the winter, according to HopeSource.

Community leaders gathered last week to celebrate FISH Community Food Bank’s new warehouse in Ellensburg.

Gary Bye, interim director of FISH, told the audience of state, county and local representatives of the many years of work that went into completing the approximately 6,400-square-foot warehouse on Elmview Road next to the nonprofit’s existing building at Bowers Field.

The CWU Track and Field team competes today at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California.

The CWU Baseball team plays tomorrow at noon against Saint Martin’s at home.

The CWU Softball team plays Montana State Billings tomorrow at noon here at home.

WHAT'S FOR LUNCH AT THE FISH OPEN TABLE?

The FISH Open Table lunch is Chicken Teriyaki with Rice, Garlic Sesame Broccoli and Orange. The senior lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table at 204 North Main Street, and noon to 1 p.m. at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
