The Bureau of Reclamation’s July 2025 forecast of total water supply available for the Yakima Basin indicates the water supply will not fully meet irrigation demands this season, officials have announced. The Total Water Supply Available for the May 20–September period indicates senior water rights will receive 100% full entitlements, but junior water rights will receive 45% of their full entitlements.

Kittitas County Public Hospital District 1 will be presenting a resolution to voters in a special election Aug. 5 to authorize the district to levy property taxes at a rate of up to 75 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.


The Thorp School District has put together its spending plan for the upcoming school year and will take public comment on its 2025-26 budget at a meeting later this month.

The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
