Kittitas County commissioners decided this week to take the next step toward building a county morgue. During their regular session Tuesday, commissioners agreed to begin a search to find a consultant to conduct a feasibility study for the project. Chief Deputy Coroner Cori McKean said constructing the new facility on the county’s airport property makes the most sense.
The Ellensburg Public Library’s Summer Reading Program kicks off Wednesday, June 25 with a colorful pallet of activities for kids, teens and adults.
The Roslyn City Council meets at 5 p.m. and the Cle Elum City Council meets at 6 p.m. in their respective City Council Chambers.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the contractor will be pushing work back repairing roadway on University Way, just east of Alder Street until Tuesday, June 24 and work will likely extend into Wednesday, June 25.
The 15th Annual Give and Golf For Habitat for Humanity happens Sunday, June 29th with a gala at the Suncadia Resort Inn and Monday, June 30th with a golf tournament at Prospector Golf Course at Suncadia.

The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
