Egg-citing weekend ahead

The short and intense egg hunting season opens on Friday and extends into Saturday at locations throughout Kittitas County.


Fun for dogs and kids Friday

The annual Dog Biscuit Hunt and Flashlight Egg Scramble is Friday at Rotary Park. The Dog Biscuit Hunt for biscuit and chew toys starts at 6 p.m. The dog’s handler must be at least 16 years old. The Flashlight Scramble for kids, ages 1 to 12, for eggs, candy and prizes starts at 8 p.m. Participants must bring their flashlights and baskets.


Egg Hunt at Prestige

Prestige Senior Living hosts an all-ages Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m., Saturday. There will be Golden Eggs for each age group and an opportunity to get photos with the Easter Bunny.


Eggs in Easton

The Easton Fire Department’s Easter Egg Hunt is at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Easton School. This is for kids up to 12 years old.

 

Hunt is on in Thorp

The Kittitas County Fire District No. 1’s Easter Egg Hunt is at 10 a.m., Saturday, at the Thorp Fire Station. There will be three age groups up to 12 years old.

 

Suncadia welcomes search for eggs

The Suncadia Community Easter Egg Hunt is at 10 a.m., Saturday at Dawson Park. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Memorial egg hunt on tap

The Terry Bland Memorial Easter Egg Hunt will be at 11 a.m. at Cle Elum’s Fireman’s Park. This is for kids up to 10 years old.

 

Eggs and more in Cle Elum

Easter in the Park will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Cle Elum City Park. There will be continuous egg hunts, crafts, games, prizes and pancake breakfast.


Easter Egg hunt at Rotary

The free community Spring Egg-venture egg hunt featuring 10,000 eggs for ages 1 through 10, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at Rotary Park. There will be activities, games, concessions, live bunnies and lambs and the Easter Bunny.


Rehkopf violin recital Thursday

CWU music professor Carrie Rehkopf will be joined by University of Alaska Fairbanks music professor Eduard Zilberkant in a violin recital at 6 p.m., today, in the McIntyre Music Building Recital Hall.


Final film in series

The final film in CWU’s Women’s History Month Film Series is “Night Raiders” at 5:30 p.m., today in Samuelson Hall Room 104. “Night Raiders” is set in a post-apocalyptic future where a mother tries to save her daughter from a government facility. The film is free and open to the public.


Pint Night for Gallery One

The Iron Horse Brewery and Taproom hosts a Pint Night for Gallery One from 4 to 8 p.m., today.  A $1 from every pint sold goes to support Gallery One. The event includes all-ages printmaking with supplies provided.


Unity Park groundbreaking Saturday

The groundbreaking ceremony for Unity Park will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at the park under construction on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Pearl Street.


Car seat clinic

The Ellensburg Police Department offers a free car seat clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the police department. People can swing by or call to make an appointment at 509-962-7280.


Chukar Run Banquet on Saturday

The Kittitas County Field and Stream Club’s Chukar Run Banquet is from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday in the Teanaway Hall at the Kittitas Valley Event Center. The event features dinner, auction, raffle, games and more. All proceeds help finance the club’s effort to support wildlife and improve outdoor recreation opportunities in the county. Tickets are $50 and can only be purchased in advance online or at Shaw’s Furniture, Arnold’s Ranch and Home or Sure Shot Guns.


Kairos performs Saturday

Kairos will perform with guest artist Eduard Zilberkant at 7 p.m., Saturday, in the McIntyre Building Concert Hall. This is a free performance.


LUNCH                                                        

The FISH Open Table Lunch is pork carnitas burrito, salsa verde and mixed fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
