NEWS

Sixth Avenue between Main and Water streets was closed to traffic Tuesday as the massive HVAC unit on top of the Kittitas County Public Safety Building was removed and replaced by another unit. The work was part of ongoing renovations at the jail, which have included maintenance and repair of the existing facility inside and out. A crane was stationed next to the building late Monday, and work to remove the existing HVAC unit started Tuesday morning.
