Ellensburg residents will see higher fees for pool access, park rentals, and recreational programs after the City Council unanimously approved updates to several longstanding rates. Daily admission at the Kittitas Valley Memorial Pool and Fitness Center will increase slightly, with city seniors, youth, and veterans paying $3.30 and adults $6.60. Out-of-city visitors will pay $4 and $8, respectively.

Ellensburg School District Superintendent Troy Tornow  announced yesterday that mandated anti-bullying training will start soon for Ellensburg School District staff per directions from the U.S. Department of Justice.


An injunction has been sought to hide the names of the people who have asked the City Of Ellensburg to eliminate its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission and amend it’s 20-year growth plan to remove its DEI chapter. For now, those names will remain secret.

VTC’s Rising Stars program showcases the talents of young performers in 3rd to 8th grade. Disney’s Frozen JR features a cast of 31 students and an additional 19 assisting backstage, including a few high school students from EHS’s Thespian troupe. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7 p.m. and cost $15.


SPORTS


Ellensburg’s Boys Soccer team beat East Valley 1-0 on Tuesday.


Ellensburg’s Girls’s Softball team lost to Othello 11-9 and won 7-5 in two games on Tuesday.


Ellensburg’s boys baseball team lost to  East Valley 11-6 on Tuesday.


Central Washington University’s baseball team plays Montana State Billings today at noon and 3 p.m. today in two games.
