NEWS
The Kittitas County Board of Commissioners has announced a public hearing on November 18th to consider a mental-health and substance‐use disorder services funding measure. The plan would allocate a portion of county tax revenues toward behavioral health programs.
In downtown Ellensburg, several local businesses have joined forces to boost the city’s winter tourism strategy, highlighting the nearby dryland shrub-steppe and outdoor recreation opportunities. The initiative aims to draw more visitors into the off-season.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Up in the Upper County, the towns of Roslyn and Cle Elum are experiencing continuing pressure on housing affordability, as more buyers from the Seattle region and beyond seek homes in the corridor. Local housing officials say the pace of purchases by remote-work professionals is stretching local service capacity and rental stock.
A Western decor store opened in Ellensburg. The Anderson’s opened American West, a furniture and home decor store, on Nov. 1. American West is located at 307 N. Main St. The store includes unique western-styled furniture, decor, pillows and everyday essentials for the home.
Tonight is Ladies Night Out from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in Downtown Cle Elum with specials at shops and restaurants.

SPORTS
At Central Washington University: Tomorrow evening the CWU Women’s Volleyball team goes head-to-head with Alaska Fairbanks on campus at 7:00 p.m. in Nicholson Arena.
The men’s basketball squad at CWU is currently preparing for their West Region crossover event on Nov. 14 vs Menlo, followed by home games later this month.
At Ellensburg High School: While the football season is complete, the Bulldogs move into their winter sports pre-season. The school will host a parent and athlete information meeting Friday to preview basketball, wrestling and swimming programs.

Winds from the northwest around 6-10 mph, with occasional gusts as the open terrain channels breeze. Sunset is at approximately 4:28 p.m. Wind chills in the late afternoon may feel slightly cooler due to breeze across open terrain. Friday looks similar: high near 50 °F, low near 33 °F, skies partly cloudy with light winds.
