Ellensburg has inked an agreement with HopeSource to acquire a four-duplex project on South Pearl Street that will be used for affordable housing. The city council unanimously approved a contract with HopeSource for the purchase of the project. Addison Place Apartments, currently under construction, includes six studio apartments and two one-bedroom apartments.


Kittitas County officials are throwing their support behind a proposal to designate the Interstate 90 bridge across the Columbia River near Vantage as the “Medal of Honor Bridge.”. Kittitas County commissioners approved a letter to the Washington State Transportation Commission on Sept. 8 to support the designation.


Save the date! Community members can provide feedback on the City’s Clean Energy Implementation Plan. The public input workshop will be from 5:30-7 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the Council Chambers, 501 N. Anderson St.  Learn more: http://ellensburgwa.gov/ceip


The City is sponsoring a coloring competition for kids ages 3-15 as part of the Ellensburg 2046 Comprehensive Plan Update and we want to see your masterpiece! Download the coloring sheet:  http://ellensburgwa.gov/coloringsheet. Turn in by September 16, 2025 at 5 p.m. to City Hall.

CWU Surplus Sale takes place today at 10:00 AM at the CWU Surplus Warehouse


The Ellensburg Arts Commission meets today at 4:00 PM in the Ellensburg City Council Conference Room


A Stitching Circle takes place today at 5:00 PM at the Roslyn Library.


SPORTS


CWU Women’s Soccer begins this week with CWU playing Eastern Oregon, in Monmouth, Oregon at noon today. 


CWU Women’s Volleyball is playing Hawaii-Hilo in Honolulu at 3 p.m. today


The Cross Country team competes tomorrow at the Cougar Classic in Colfax at 5 p.m.

LUNCH


The FISH Open Table Lunch is a Greek Chickpea Pasta Salad with Oranges. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
