NEWS
Ellensburg will renew its contract with Axon for police body cameras, in-car video cameras in police vehicles, and tasers. The Ellensburg City Council gave the go-ahead for the $485,361 agreement at its meeting last week. The city’s existing contract expired at the end of 2025.
Voting is underway for Ellensburg’s 2026 Community Selected Historic Preservation Award. Three buildings were nominated for the honor: Ellensburg Central Square (Fitterer's Building), Johnston and Williams Funeral Home and Crematory, and the Kleinberg Building.
Frederick Springsteen has been reappointed to Ellensburg’s Utility Advisory Committee. The Ellensburg City Council approved the appointment at its meeting last week Springsteen’s current term was set to expire on May 31.
Ballots for voters in the Kittitas School District were mailed out this week for the April 28 special election. The Kittitas School District is seeking voter approval of a replacement levy that pays for educational programs and operations.
The Roslyn City Council meets at 5 p.m. at Roslyn City Hall today. The Cle Elum City Council meets at 5 p.m. today at Cle Elum City Hall and Kittitas City Council meets also at 6 p.m. today at the Kittitas City Hall City Council chambers.
Trivia nights take place tonight at the Mule at 5:30 p.m., Rock and Reef at 6 p.m. and Roslyn Eagles up in Roslyn at 7 p.m.
SPORTS
The CWU Softball team beat St. Martins 6-2 over the weekend in their first game but lost 15-7 in their second game over the weekend.
THE CWU baseball team lost to Western Oregon 13-3. In their first game but won 8-5 in their second game over the weekend.
Some great performances by the CWU Track and Field Team at the CWU Wildcat invitational over the weekend. Phenom freshman Colton Magruder earned a new personal best in the 100m with a time of 10.43 to win the event. Meggie Kilcup earned the victory for CWU in the 800m with a time of 2:15.94

WHAT'S FOR LUNCH AT THE FISH OPEN TABLE?
The FISH Open Table lunch tomorrow is Cajun Sausage and Chicken over rice with peaches. The senior lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table at 204 North Main Street, and noon to 1 p.m. at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
