NEWS
The City of Ellensburg announces Christopher Horner as the new City Attorney, effective April 16th. Horner has worked with the Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office in the Civil Division for more than eleven years and has a background in public and private sector legal environments. Horner’s earlier experiences included public sector roles with the Stevens County Prosecutor’s Office and Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office.
At the last Ellensburg City Council meeting, Councilmembers weighed pros and cons of muting social media comments. The city does reserve the right to mute these comments.
North Walnut Street will be closed for utility installations from April 15 to April 17. The closure affects the area just north of East Dean Nicholson Blvd.
The Impacts of Federal Spending Cut panel discussion happens tomorrow from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the IOOF Odd Fellows Lodge. The League of Women Voters of Kittitas County will host a panel discussion to explore the local impacts of current and proposed federal budget and staffing cuts on Kittitas County services. Join the Landmarks and Design Commission and Kittitas County Historical Museum to celebrate Historic Preservation Month with an award presentation on Saturday, May 3 at the Kittitas County Historical Museum. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the presentation starts at 4:30 p.m.

The Central Washington Men’s Baseball team lost to Western Oregon in 7 innings 6-0 on Sunday
The Central Washington University Women’s Softball Team lost to Simon Fraser 7-5 and 2-1 on Sunday.
The CWU Wildcat Invitational Track and Field Meet happens this Friday here in Ellensburg.

LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is Chicken Alfredo with peas and peaches. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
