NEWS
The Kittitas County Fair opens today at 10:00 am with Carnival and Midway Rides open at noon and the Rockin’ The Chutes concert at 8 p.m. The Kittitas County Fair has taken place every year in Ellensburg since 1923.
The Ellensburg City Council adopted a proclamation at its last meeting to mark International Overdose Awareness Day. International Overdose Awareness Day is Sunday, Aug. 31.
The public is invited to welcome the arrival of The Wall That Heals as the mobile memorial comes to Ellensburg on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Organizers said the replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be escorted into town in a procession that will be led by Vietnam veterans on motorcycles.

Be prepared for road closures on Saturday, August 30 for the Ellensburg Rodeo Parade. The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Closures will begin at 7:15 a.m. Saturday. University Way, Alder, Pearl, Pine, 2nd & 5th will be closed for parade traffic. Please use alternate routes.
For the majority of September, a portion of Anderson Road will be closed for the installation of infrastructure and road improvements required for the Winco Distribution Center.
SPORTS
Central Washington University Football season kicks off tonight vs RV Colorado Mesa at home.
The CWU Men’s Cross Country Team has their home opener on Saturday.
WEATHER
The forecasted high today in Ellensburg is 85 degrees with a low of 57 degrees. The sunset is at 7:48 p.m. with winds out of the North Northeast at 5 - 10 MPH.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad, Garlic Toast and Mixed Whole Fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
