Today is Primary Election Day throughout Washington State. Ballots need to be turned in or mailed by 8 p.m. tonight. Returns will be posted shortly after ballots close.

This year, $12,000 went straight into the hands of eight downtown business owners as part of the Ellensburg Downtown Association’s Business Revitalization Fund Program.

The CWU Board of Trustees approved the Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Health at its July 25 meeting.

The undergraduate program will offer students a “psychological foundation for understanding and addressing the complexities of behavior health and overall wellbeing within individuals and communities,” according to the description given to trustees.

Ellensburg will spend up to $60,000 to replace the garbage cans around downtown and add seven more. The Ellensburg City Council authorized the use of lodging tax funds in a 6-1 vote after a presentation by Arts & Economic Development Manager Kelle Vandenberg spelled out the dire state of the current cans.

Ellensburg Landmark and Design Commission meets tonight at 5:45 pm in the Ellensburg City Council Chambers.

The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
