Cle Elum is moving forward with a permanent ban against the sale and distribution of kratom in the city.At this week’s meeting of the Cle Elum City Council, the council asked the mayor to have staff prepare an ordinance that would enact the ban.
The move follows the earlier passage of a six-month moratorium on sales of kratom, a controversial herbal supplement.
Winterfest Legacy Lane is now open at Suncadia Resort. Winterfest Legacy Lane is a new holiday feature that celebrates the resort’s 25th anniversary. It has transformed The Inn at Suncadia into a seasonal display of gingerbread architecture created by seven custom homebuilders.
Preschool Storytime takes place at 10:15 AM followed by Toddler Storytime at 11:15 a.m. today at the Ellensburg Public Library.

The FISH Open Table Lunch schedule is not out for December but we know the lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
