The Kittitas County Conservation District is seeking candidates who want to serve on the district’s Board of Supervisors.
One elected position and one appointed position expires in 2026. Individuals who are interested in the elected position must submit a Candidate Information Form to the district office by Tuesday, Feb. 3.
The Ellensburg City Council approved a new three-year contract for police officers at the council’s meeting Tuesday. The agreement with Teamsters Local 760 replaces a union contract that expired Dec. 31. The council OK’d the contract without discussion; the employment agreement was part of the council’s consent agenda on Jan. 20.

The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
