The Kittitas County Fire Marshal has issued a full countywide burn ban effective July 1. The burn ban prohibits open burning, also known as pile or debris burning.
Kittitas County will open a special three-day filing period on Tuesday, July 8 for candidates to declare they are in the running for positions that did not draw any interest during the regular filing period for the November general election.
As part of a broader $40 million renovation project, Suncadia Resort has unveiled plans for a new mixed-use development with retail set to open in summer 2026.

The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
