Drivers who cross the Columbia should plan ahead. Traffic restrictions return to Interstate 90 near Vantage this Wednesday, July 9th, as crews restart repair work on the Vantage Bridge. Expect lane reductions and slower going, so give yourself extra time if you're headed east.

Kittitas County will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony next week to celebrate the completion of the new Lower County Transfer Station. The public is invited to the event, planned for 2 p.m. Friday, July 10 at 2603 W. Green Ave. in Ellensburg.

The Kittitas County Fair Board has changed the time for its monthly meetings. The advisory board will now meet at 6:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. at the Kittitas Valley Event Center.

Kittitas County commissioners have reappointed Tyler Elster of Cle Elum to the Kittitas County Civil Service Committee. Commissioners approved a new term for Elster at their administration meeting Monday.

The Ellensburg City Council has voted unanimously to reappoint Jeffrey Snedeker to a new term on the Ellensburg Arts Commission. The commission also has its nomination period open for this year's Arts Treasure and Arts Advocate awards, which honor people who've given their time and talent to the local arts scene.

The FISH Open Table lunch tomorrow is Pesto Chickpea Pasta Salad — pasta tossed with basil pesto, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, artichokes, peppers, and feta cheese, with oranges on the side. The senior lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table at 204 North Main Street, and noon to 1 p.m. at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
