I-90 construction schedule
Travelers on Interstate 90 will encounter multiple traffic disruptions between North Bend and the Vantage Bridge this week. There will be single-lane closures east and westbound near North Bend during the day and night. There will be night-time closure in both directions through Friday near Easton. Westbound traffic will shift and there will be minor delays near Cle Elum during the day and night. There will be daytime single-lane closures in both directions near Ellensburg. There will be single-lane closures daily and night on Vantage Bridge through Friday.
County hearing on Springwood on Tuesday
The Kittitas County commissioners will hold a public hearing on accepting the transfer of ownership of 3,600 acres of the Springwood Ranch property at 2 p.m., today in the Commissioners Auditorium. The transfer is part of the sale of the land from the Trust for Public Land to Kittitas County, the state Fish and Wildlife Department, the Yakama Nation and the Kittitas Reclamation District.
Service industry night at Dru Bru
Dru Bru-Cle Elum hosts Service Industry Night from 5 to 8 p.m., today. Service industry workers receive a brewery tour and discounts and pints and merchandise. People need to bring proof of employment in the service industry.
Vacancies on city Planning Commission
Applications are being accepted for two vacancies on the city’s Planning Commission. The planning commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the long-term comprehensive land plan and the zoning ordinance. Application information is available on the city’s website.
A call out to puzzle people
Hal Holmes Community Center hosts an 80s retro-theme puzzle competition from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., today. This is the second competition opportunity in 2024 for three teams to make it to the Grand Puzzler Showdown in December.
Acoustic jam in Roslyn
The Roslyn Downtown Association Creative Center on West Idaho Avenue hosts a Roslyn Acoustic Jam at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday. Bring an instrument and a tune (or two) to share and make music with your community. All levels are welcome.
High School graduation this week
Every high school school in Kittitas County celebrates graduation this week. The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District’s Swiftwater School graduation is at 6 p.m., today at Ritter Farms on Lund Lane. The Ellensburg High School graduation is 7 p.m., Thursday in Nicholson Pavilion. Thorp celebrates graduation at 6 p.m., Friday at the Thorp School. The Easton School graduation is at 11 a.m., Saturday, the Easton School multipurpose room. Cle Elum-Roslyn High School’s graduation is at 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Walter Strom Middle School gym. The Kittitas Secondary School graduation is at 7 p.m., Saturday, at the secondary school.
Dean Nicholson closed next week
Dean Nicholson Boulevard will be closed between Wildcat Way and Walnut Street from June 11 to 13 to connect the water line serving the new Central Washington University North Academic Building. The road will be plated and open to vehicles during non-construction hours.

The FISH Open Table Lunch is sloppy joe, mixed vegetables and peaches. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
