Work to replace the deck on the Interstate 90 Vantage Bridge has started for a third construction season, the Washington State Department of Transportation has announced. Travelers should expect long delays with the bridge reduced to a single lane in each direction, state officials said. The lane restrictions continue around-the-clock, seven days a week. There are also reduced speeds and a 9-foot width restriction through the construction zone.
The Bureau of Reclamation’s March 2026 forecast of total water supply available for the Yakima Basin indicates the water supply will not fully meet irrigation demands this season, officials have announced. The Total Water Supply Available for the May 20–September period indicates senior water rights will receive 100% full entitlements, but junior water rights will receive 44% of their full entitlements. Reclamation officials said storage in the Yakima Basin reservoirs on March 1 was 76% full with 806,000 acre-feet, which is 128% of average.
The Washington State Patrol will be conducting emphasis patrols during Spring Break in Kittitas and Grant counties, the State Patrol has announced. The focused enforcement starts Thursday, March 12 and continues through Sunday, March 22.
Processing requests for public records at Ellensburg City Hall has always been a hands-on affair. That’s about to change. And city officials say, that’s a good thing. The Ellensburg City Council approved a contract at its meeting this week to purchase JustFOIA software to help the city manage public records requests.

The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church.
