Kittitas County commissioners approved a timeline extension Tuesday for the opening of the new Ellensburg bowling alley. The timeline for the reopening of the lanes, once known as the Rodeo Bowl, has been reset from Dec. 31 to July 1 due to unforeseen delays in the project.

Sarita Dasgupta has been nominated by the city’s Arts Commission to be the Ellensburg Poet Laureate for the 2026-2028 term. Dasgupta currently works as a library assistant at the Ellensburg Public Library. She was previously an editor, as well as an English teacher in Delhi Public School, Digboi, Assam, India.

WHAT'S FOR LUNCH AT THE FISH OPEN TABLE?

The FISH Open Table Lunch is Loaded Baked Potato with a roll and mixed fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
