NEWS


The Ellensburg City Council agreed Monday to buy a 3-acre property on Bull Road to be used as the site for a new South Ellensburg electric substation The land, purchased from the company Canals of Ellensburg, will cost the city $517,500.

City officials said the property is an ideal location for a new substation, and sits close to Bonneville Power Administration transmission facilities. 


Belsaas & Smith Construction has been awarded the bid for the repair of the University Way Bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks. The Ellensburg City Council selected the company to do the project at its Oct. 6 meeting. Belsaas & Smith Construction submitted a winning bid of $104,810.


The City is reconstructing the alley between Main/Water St. from Washington to Capitol Ave. The project started yesterday and will take several weeks. There will be intermittent closures of the alley and a full closure during the repaving process.

The Ellensburg Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee meets today at 3:00 PM in the Ellensburg City Council Chambers


The Ellensburg Library Board also meets at 4:30 PM also in the Ellensburg City  Council Conference Room.

CWU Women's Soccer lost 1-0 vs Seattle Pacific on Saturday


CWU’s Women’s Volleyball beat Saint Martin’s 3-1 on Saturday


CWU’s Football team  beat UT Permian Basin in Odessa, TX 27-14 on Saturday.

LUNCH


The FISH Open Table Lunch is Spaghetti and Meatballs with Green Beans and Chef’s Choice Fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
