City adds convenience fees for utility payments

Residents paying Ellensburg utility bills with a credit/debit card or e-check now will be charged a convenience fee. The City Council approved the fee structure at Monday’s meeting. Fee-free payments include autopay, paying by cash in person at City Hall, or paying by check via mail, in-person, or at City Hall drop box. City council members said the city had previously been absorbing the transaction fees and now they are being passed on to the customer.

Mule seeks streatery permit

The application is available for review on the building department section of the city of Ellensburg’s website. Any business seeking a streatery must apply under revised rules the City Council adopted this spring that added fees, including for parking spaces used and size of the structure and limits the streatery to four parking spaces.
