Top Story: According to a Kittitas Police Officers Association Facebook post, Officer Monte Wallace has resigned from the City of Kittitas Police Force. This is effective June 26. One year ago, Officer Wallace was stabbed in the face on duty.


EVENTS

A day to make music

The annual Make Music Day is from 4 to 8 p.m. today in downtown Ellensburg. This day is celebrated across the world with musicians of all skill levels taking to the streets, sidewalks, restaurants and parks to play music. There will be several outdoor stages and indoor venues throughout Ellensburg. This event is sponsored by the Ellensburg Downtown Association.


Start to summer reading

The Kick-off for the Ellensburg Public Library’s Summer Reading program for kids is the Touch-a-Truck event at 11 a.m., today at Rotary Park. The summer reading program continues with special events every Wednesday throughout the summer.


The Ellensburg Night Market is from 5 to 9 p.m., today on Pine Street between Third and Fourth avenues. This is a once-a-month summer event offering an opportunity to shop unique vendors and support micro-business owners in the community. The market is organized by the Ellensburg Downtown Association.

Coming together to paint

The first event of the Ellensburg Public Library’s summer adult reading program is Paint Together Now at 6 p.m., Thursday, at Hal Holmes Community Center.


Celebrating 100 years of rodeo

As part of the celebration of 100 years of the Ellensburg Rodeo, the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame is hosting a monthly speaker series. At 7:23 p.m., Friday, at the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame, the presentation will be Behind the Scenes: Rodeo Committee and Volunteers.


Coffee with the council

This month’s Coffee with City Council event is 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at D&M Coffee on Pearl Street.

LUNCH

The FISH Open Table lunch taco salad with spring mix, cheddar, chicken, olives, tomato, cabbage, corn, tortilla strips and beans. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Ellensburg, and noon to 1 p.m., in Cle Elum. Meal sites are the Ellensburg Open Table and the Cle Elum Seventh-day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg location.
