Work will intensify on Kittitas County’s spending plan over next few weeks as officials dig into details on the draft 2026 budget. During their first look in early September at the preliminary county budget for 2026, county commissioners were told the budget was starting out with a deficit of approximately $6 million.

The FISH Open Table Lunch is a Italian Sandwich with chipsl and Mixed Fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
