Ellensburg Councilmember Rich Elliott will continue to serve as mayor. The Ellensburg City Council voted unanimously to keep Elliott as mayor during its meeting Monday. Every two years, the council elects a mayor and a mayor pro tem.
Renovations to the Ellensburg Rodeo arena will start to hit a high point — literally — in March. During a briefing Monday on the $13.6 million rodeo grandstands reconstruction project, Kittitas County Facilities & Waste Operations Director Patti Stacey told commissioners crews will start erecting the stands that month.
Repair to the water system in Roslyn continued Monday following a break in the city’s water main late last week. The break was discovered late Thursday night and prompted the city to issue a “boil water” advisory to residents. A water fill station was set up at Fire Station 61 in Ronald for Roslyn residents who did not have access to drinkable water on Friday morning, and the water main was fixed by the evening of Jan. 2.

WHAT'S FOR LUNCH AT THE FISH OPEN TABLE?
The FISH Open Table Lunch is Beef Chili with cornbread and mixed fruit. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
