NEWS
Nearly 20 people are without homes after a fire tore through the Brookside Manor apartment complex in Ellensburg this past weekend. Six apartments were destroyed in the fire and 13 were damaged.
Kittitas County Public Hospital District No. 1 in Ellensburg will be presenting a resolution to voters in a special election Aug. 5 to authorize the district to levy property taxes at a rate of up to 75 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.
After conducting two nationwide searches over the past year, CWU has selected Dr. Christopher Redfearn to lead the College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. Julie Baldwin to lead College of The Sciences.

LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is Pork Pozole with tortillas and Peaches.. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
