The city of Cle Elum is accepting nominations for the 2025 Judge Paul P. Pangrazi Memorial Service Award. The annual award is bestowed on a person who has a record of distinguished service that benefits the citizens of Cle Elum. Nominees can include volunteers, civic and religious leaders, education professionals, health workers, business leaders, emergency responders and others. Nominations are being accepted through Thursday, Sept. 25.
A record high temperature of 99 degrees was set in Ellensburg yesterday. The previous record was 95 degrees.
After a fire scorched about 81 acres near a road south of Ellensburg this week, state officials are investigating the cause and asking for help identifying a vehicle that was spotted near where the fire began.
The Wall That Heals is up and still open thanks to these great volunteers in Ellensburg, WA. They motored hard through over 100° temperatures. The Wall That Heals is a replica of the Vietnam Vets Memorial in Washington D.C. and is open around the clock until Sunday at 2pm.
The City of Ellensburg will conduct a second Community Conversation Workshop on 9/6 at 1:30 p.m. Due to a possible quorum of councilmembers attending as audience members, this is being noticed as a special meeting. The workshop will take place in the Hal Holmes Community Center.
Thursday Book Club takes place at the Roslyn Public Library today at 5 p.m.

The Central Washington University’s Women’s Volleyball team will play San Francisco State today in Bellingham followed by a game on Friday versus Cal Poly Pomona.

WEATHER
The forecasted high today in Ellensburg is 98 degrees with a low of 60 degrees. The sunset is at 7:34 p.m. with winds out of the West Northwest at 5 - 10 MPH.
LUNCH
The FISH Open Table Lunch is a Tuna Salad Sandwich, Tomato Cucumber Salad and Plums. The lunch is open to all seniors age 60-plus from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ellensburg Open Table, and noon to 1 p.m., at the Cle Elum Seventh Day Adventist Church. The community lunch for anyone needing a hot meal is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Ellensburg Open Table.
